Procedure: 1. Create art work and convert to a negative image. 2. Using a laser printer or copier, print image on the coated side of the paper identified as the Imaging Sheet. 3. Feed paper into the copier or printer with the short dimension first (grain long). For best fusing results, select a heavy paper setting. Transferring 1. Marry the Imaged Sheet with the Transfer Sheet. This will apply the transfer coating to the imaged area, only. Heat Press for 25 seconds at 250o F using high pressure with the Image Sheet on top. Separate the papers while still Hot (Hot Peel). The stencil is ready to be applied to the screen. 2. Place release paper on the heat press bed. Place clean, dry screen onto heat press, print side up. Place the imaging sheet face down onto the bottom surface of the screen. Heat Press: 25 seconds 3. Wait 3 to 4 minutes before peeling the carrier sheet (cold peel). Once peeled, the screen is created. at 375o F using heavy pressure. 4. Block the screen with RhinoBlock and begin printing. 5. Repeat these steps for each color if printing a multi- color job. 6. Once printing is completed, apply RhinoClean Screen Wash to remove the ink. To remove the stencil, use high pressure water. If needed, apply HR 2800 Haze Remover to make the screen look like new. I thought it had a lot of good information in it so I decided to post it. The video quality is poorer than usual and the audio in the second part gets louder when I move to the close up shot of the heat press. I will do another heat transfer video in the future covering a full color laser transfer paper that is a 2-part process. The paper weeds itself of the extra adhesive wherever toner is absent. Trimming is unnecessary. This video covers Avery heat transfers, which are readily available at any office supply or Walmart. Keep in mind there are many different kinds and types of transfer papers. This particular one is designed for home use with an iron. Just make sure your iron is very, very hot and you should use a lot of pressure. Follow the instructions given with your Avery heat transfers as well. I would suggest washing these shirts with extra water for the first time alone, or with a couple others that have just been pressed. This will help dilute any bleeding that may occur in the first wash. However many you want to wash at one time, just use more water than you normally would for a wash that size. How I print white t-shirts with my professional Heat Transfer Press using your emailed artwork. I did this quick video as so many have asked me how I do it. I did 25 years of screen printing (silk screen) but I like the ability to render quickly what I envision. I use white shirts as the color of the shirt effects how the image will show. The white background is instrumental in the vibrancy or the colors and most importantly any white or highlight areas in the artwork. Some artwork changes significantly to the point where it mutes or kills the color when you put it on a different color shirt. The artwork holds up great after a couple of YEARS..with 25 years of screen printing (silkscreening) it would be hard to pursuade a purist like myself..I have been very happy...I never sell my art work that I wouldn't buy or wear. The inks I use are that of an inkjet printer with a high resolution setting for printing and using the "mirror" setting. When you heat a transfer you are actually setting the ink into the fabric. The ink bonding to fabric gives it a better "hand" (feel ) to it. A consistant pressure and heat are very important for larger design surfaces. I have found it to last years.
